Here are your top area performances from Week 7 of Minnesota high school football.
Ryan Bruggeman – Pelican Rapids
Bruggeman rushed for 225 yards and six touchdowns to lead Pelican Rapids over Roseau 50-38.
Andrew Smith – Otter Tail Central
Andrew Smith had a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to go along with touchdown runs of 43, 45 and 33 to lead OTC over Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 64-0.
Chad Johnson – Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton
Johnson rushed for 126 yards and four touchdowns to lead D-G-F over Staples-Motley 33-0.
Lance Ruebke/JD Kappes – Ada-Borup
Ada-Borup had eight touchdowns in their 58-12 win over Rothsay and Ruebke and Kappes were in on five of them. Kappes was 9-of-10 passing for 135 yards and four touchdowns, three of which went to Ruebke, who also added a touchdown run and an interception on defense.
Paul Berger – Wheaton-Herman-Norcross
Berger had touchdown runs of 4, 5 and 21 yards to go along with a 25-yard touchdown reception to lead W-H-N over Bertha-Hewitt 62-12.
Michael Strand – Barnesville
Strand had six carries for 121 yards and three touchdowns to go along with two catches for 67 yards and a touchdown in a game against Wadena-Deer Creek that was called with five minutes to go in the second quarter with the Trojans up 55-0.
Jared Olsgaard – Park Christian
Olsgaard had touchdown passes of 25, 32 and 5 yards to go along with a 29-yard TD run to lead Park Christian over Norman County West 32-18.
Nathan Blaufuss – Breckenridge
Blaufuss had a touchdown run of 1 yard and touchdown catches of 3 and 53 to lead Breckenridge over Warroad 41-0.
The Bachmanns – Frazee
Hesston Bachmann took back interceptions for touchdowns 30 and 25 yards out and returned a punt 46 yards for a touchdown, while Tanner Bachmann had a 3-yard touchdown catch and a 41-yard touchdown run to lead Frazee over Red Lake 49-0.
Jordan Harms – Hawley
Harms had a 1-yard touchdown plunge and found Ben Ellefson for a 20-yard touchdown pass to go along with an interception on defense to lead Hawley over Pequot Lakes 20-0.
Kody Lefebvre/Mahnomen defense
Lefebvre had 138 yards rushing and two touchdowns to lead Mahnomen over Lake Park-Audubon 30-0. The Indians defense picked up its fifth shutout of the season, holding LP-A to 58 total yards, including -2 rushing.
Dillon Card – Verndale
Card ran for 63 yards and two touchdowns and found Marcos Gomez for a 30-yard touchdown pass to lead Verndale over Brandon-Evansville 44-6.
Payton Jordahl/Eli Beachy/Perham defense
Perham ran for 289 yards in its biggest win of the season over Class 4A’s No. 4-ranked and previously undefeated Detroit Lakes. Jordahl (119 yards) and Beach (108) had 227 of those rushing yards and each had a touchdown in the 14-0 win.
The Perham defense held a strong DL running game to 68 rushing yards and 147 total.
