Home-field advantage means plenty to Fargo Shanley FB team

North Dakota Class 2A, No. 3-ranked Fargo Shanley earned the No. 1 seed from the East Region this fall going 7-0 against East opponents and 8-1 overall.

The Deacons have won three of the last four 2A titles. It’s been an impressive run that has been fueled by the always important home field advantage during the playoffs.

On Saturday, the Deacons host West Region No. 4-seeded Watford City. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Sid Cichy Stadium – a venue that has not been kind to visiting teams in the playoffs since it opened in 2009.

Since 2009, Shanley has hosted seven playoff games at Sid Cichy Stadium and has won all seven.

Here is a look at the Deacons’ dominance at Sid Cichy Stadium:

2009
W, 32-6 vs. Carrington in quarterfinals

2010
W, 44-6 vs. Dickinson Trinity-NE in quarterfinals
W, 31-6 vs. Valley City in semifinals

2011
W, 42-12 vs. Minot Ryan in quarterfinals
W, 30-8 vs. Kindred in semifinals

2012
W, 46-20 vs. Rugby in the quarterfinals

  1. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the page layout
of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to
say. But maybe you could a little more in the way
of content so people could connect with it better.
Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two pictures.
Maybe you could space it out better?
